RedHawks Code of Conduct
Druid Hills Youth Sports believes that children deserve to have fun in a safe and caring environment. Please pledge to do everything you can to make this possible for all
the children in our Summer Tournament Team Program.

RedHawks Parents - Code of Conduct

As a 13U RedHawk parent...

1. I will provide positive support and encouragement for my child.
2. I will place the physical and emotional well being of my child ahead of any personal desire to win. I will NOT belittle and/or criticize my child in a destructive manner.
3. I will also refrain from criticizing my child’s teammates, coaches, umpires and opposing
teams as well.
4. I will provide support for managers, coaches and officials working with my child to
provide a fun experience for all.
5. I will demand a drug & alcohol free environment for my child and I will not use or allow
use of such substances at any game or practice.
6. I will remember that not all children are gifted with the same athletic ability but all
benefit from encouragement and practice.
7. I will do my very best to make tournament baseball enjoyable for my child.
8. I will ask my child to treat other players, managers, coaches, fans and officials with
respect.
9. I will make sure that my child arrives at practice and games on time. I will remind my
child of his own pledge to give his best effort at practice and games.
10. I will not openly criticize my child's coaches and will discuss any issues privately with
coaches in a civil, non-threatening manner.
11. Knowing that I am a representative of DHYS, I will behave in a manner that reflects the
proud traditions of Medlock Park baseball.

RedHawks Players - Code of Conduct

As a 13U RedHawk player...

1. I will do my very best to listen and learn from my coaches. I understand that my coaches
have volunteered themselves for this endeavor and are giving their precious time to the
team. When I am at practice or at a game, I will respect their commitment and give them
my undivided attention and efforts on the field and off.
2. By treating my managers and coaches with respect and giving my best efforts, I expect to
be treated with respect accordingly. If that is not the case, I will bring it to my parents'
attention.
3. I will encourage good sportsmanship from my teammates, managers, coaches, parents
and officials at every practice and game. I will refrain from criticizing or teasing my teammates should they error, and will discourage others from doing so. If I choose to act in
an unsportsmanlike manner, I can expect to be held accountable for my actions. This might
include punishment, benching and expulsion from the team.
4. I will attend all practices and games that I can and notify my manager if I cannot.
5. I will expect to receive at a minimum playing time as outlined in the DHYS Local Rules.
6. I will remember that the main goal is to learn and have fun and will let my parents,
managers, and coaches know if it stops being fun.
7. I expect to play in an alcohol, tobacco and drug free environment and expect adults to
comply.
8. While at practice and/or participating in tournament games, I will treat other parents
and adults with respect and exhibit behavior that best represents DHYS.
